The municipality of Qatif was established in 1344 AH and was composed of Safwi to the north to Sihat in the south
The municipality of Qatif was established in 1344 AH and was composed of Safwa north to Sihat South and with the urban development of the villages that have become cities six municipalities have been established with independent budgets to take into account the interests of citizens:
- Municipality of Qatif
- Municipality of Safwa
- Municipality of Sihat
- Municipality of Tarot
- Municipality of Anak
- Municipality of Kadih
The situation continued until 1402 AH, where these six municipalities were included in one municipality under the name of the Municipality of the Qatif Region, which enjoys financial and administrative independence.
In 1407 AH, the Municipality of Qatif was integrated administratively, financially and fully in its administrative structures in the Municipality of Dammam and its budget was merged with the Secretariat.
